Interior Design Schools

Interior design schools are few and far between as you might be led to think if you look at a list of such places. True, there are quite a few universities and educational places which are dedicated to rearing up the next generation of medical practitioners, engineers, scientists and business managers. But there are also educational places geared for those of us who don’t wish to become any of the above and who have an artistic streak in them. These schools are there to help the next batch of fashion designers, sculptors, artists, dancers and yes, even interior designers. That’s why there special are interior design schools available for the keen and interested student to attend. When I say student though, I don’t necessarily mean that you need to be young and fresh out of high school.

That’s just asking too much. There are many interior designers who started out young and who fizzled out soon after, just as there are many interior designers who started out late in their lives and who are now at the top of their profession. Such things are not unheard of and all it requires is a little dedication on the part of the mature student. It doesn’t really matter though if you’re just starting your adult life or if you’ve been there for some time now, what matters is that you’ve made the decision to go on with your life in another direction and that you continue on that course with pride. Interior designers are vital to today’s society as they can relieve the stresses of a normal work day just by the calm soothing rooms they can construct for us.

Design is everything and if you come back home to something that isn’t remotely pleasing you’re not going to get your much needed rest, and that’s where an interior decorator comes in. And since that’s where ideally you would be the one stepping in at this point, it’s beneficial to you if you have at least some working knowledge of what you’re going to do. And that’s the whole point of going to good interior design
schools. Having the proper credentials to back you up can go a long way in helping your interior design career, and attending one of the many interior design schools is one of the best ways to get those credentials. Between those and some good hard work on your part, your interior design career should soar.

El Reno is situated at the intersection of two historic highways, the Chisholm Trail or Highway 81 and the nostalgic Route 66, in the center of the Canadian River Valley.  Although El Reno was not chartered until 1889, the beginning of the place and its surrounding area was much earlier. El Reno boasts of rich historic structure, and in the city limits can be found eleven properties and two areas listed on the National Register of Historic Places, on top of an incredible inventory of historic homes.

For those planning an El Reno field trip, there are some great attractions that features both historic and educational places to see and learn. Starting off with the El Reno Heritage Mural that is located at the corner of Woodstone and Bickford streets in El Reno, the mural commemorates the rich legacy of El Reno, Canadian County and Western Oklahoma.  The mural is one-hundred-eight feet and is fifteen feet above the ground; it was specially made in April of 1980 by Ok Federal Savings and Loan Association and was painted by Charles Beecham, an El Reno artist.  On the 11th of October 1980, the painting was completed.  Other El Reno field trip places to see include:

Heritage Express Trolley
An El Reno field trip will not be complete without experiencing or even just seeing in reality the Heritage Express Trolley, which is the only rail based trolley in the great state of Oklahoma.  It runs from the Heritage Park, situated on the grounds of the Canadian County Historical Museum, traveling through the downtown area.  It runs from Wednesdays through Sundays.

Fort Reno
The fort was established as an Indian Territory military fort in 1875, which will provide for a historic and educational El Reno field trip.  It is located four miles west of El Reno on Route 66, and features fifteen buildings listed on the National Register of Historic Places that adjoins the parade grounds.  The annual Tombstone Tales event in September is held at the historic Post Cemetery of the fort.  It is also the location of the Grazinglands Research Laboratory of the US Department of Agriculture.

Canadian County Museum
The museum also adds up to a great El Reno field trip, as it is rated one of the outstanding museums in Oklahoma,  The grounds nestles on the 98th Cheyenne and Arapaho lands in Western Oklahoma, located in El Reno’s Heritage Park.  The main museum is within the fully renovated old Rock Island depot, and the museum houses numerous historic buildings from the first Red Cross Canteen in the nation, to the cabin of General Sheridan, which is the oldest standing structure in the Canadian county.

These are just some of the best places to see on an El Reno field trip, there are a lot of other excellent places to visit during an El Reno field trip that will give every participant a glimpse of the rich and beautiful history of El Reno as well as an educational and enriching experience.
