In a relationship there is love, honor and respect. So, how to save a relationship?  The first step is knowing what is going wrong.

For this good communication is required.  You must share your feelings honestly with the other person.  Great relationships are made by a great team.  Its like a fifty fifty arrangement and both of you have to be hundred percent dedicated to the relationship.

It may be difficult to accept it, but all relationships require a lot of hard work.  So be ready for it. If something nasty has happened because of you offer an apology and make the necessary changes.  It your partner is to blame, be gracious enough to forgive. Once done, do not revisit the past issues.

People too often forget their manners once they are in a relationship. This is a mistake. Being thoughtful and considerate can go a long way in showing true concern for someone else’s needs and concerns.

You must give your partner time. Time to work through their own issues as well as the ones created within the relationship. If your spouse does not take the time to deal with their own personal issues, you can be sure you will be dealing with them within the relationship.

Whatever you do, do not allow a third party to get involved, unless they are you counselor or therapist. The game of “he said, she said” can quickly become very ugly. Think about it, you innocently mention something that annoys you about your partner to a friend or loved one, and the next thing you know, you are seeing it printed on a billboard in the city square. Ok, a little exaggeration here, but you get the point. Keep the private things private.

Show each other love, honor and respect, and the mutual feeling.  Even traditional marriage vows say the same.  It is said in the bible “do unto others as you would have them do unto you”. This is perhaps the most important to remember in saving your relationship. By following even some of these tips, you can save your relationship to a great extent.

All relationships will work only when you work hard, so you must be prepared for it.  No gains without pains.  If by chance your relationship is in danger and its your fault, apologize immediately.  Make mends immediately.  On the other hand if it’s the other person, forgive and accept their apology.   You must avoid revisiting the past.

While in a relationship you cannot forget your manners. Being kind and generous and this way you can show your true concern and love for each other.  Accommodate each other in to your lives.

Give each other time and space.  So you can work through the issues in your own way within the relationship. If your spouse has not time to deal with personal problems, you deal with them. Try not to confuse yourself and forget the previous problems. This can make it worse, rather than saving your relationship.

Most of us run to a third part for help, this should not be done unless its counseling or therapy. Deal with each other drawbacks in a nice way and avoid being the laughing stock.  So what happens in the house should stay in the house and not end up on streets.

Try to show love, honor and respect, and expect it in return. There is a reason these words are found in most traditional marriage vows. As the bible instructs, “do unto others as you would have them do unto you”. If you follow this rule, you just may save a relationship.
