Selling on EBay

EBay

Your junk could be found treasures on EBay

We all have junk lying around the house. How can we take that junk and make some money out of it? One way of doing this is by listing our junk on EBay. You know what they say about our junk being other people’s treasures. Just think about the kind of treasures that are found each and every day on EBay. Wouldn’t you like to cash in on this profitable business?

You say yes. You are getting excited. But how do you go about doing this.

First, you actually look around and see what you have.  You might want to start selling the stuff you actually own. Then if you find you like the set up you might even start purchasing products to sell on EBay and maybe even start your own EBay store.  But first things are first.

Pick a few items you don’t need or want. Do you have a classic piece of jewelry you never wear?  Do you have some collectibles that are gathering dust and you no longer have a true passion for anymore? These are just two great examples of items that are usually great EBay sellers.

Once you pick out your pieces go to www.ebay.com. Get acquainted with the site. Look at some similar items that are selling now that are in the same groupings of what you want to sell.  Check out the pricing. Could you handle a sell like that?

Now learn some of the terms that are associated with Ebay.com. Do you see the buy it now price? If a buyer sees this and likes the price, before a bid is placed, the seller is guaranteed this price and there is no auction.   If you ever use this feature, make sure it is high enough for you to make a profit.

Do you fear that the item you sell will go for a far less price than you wish to sell it? No fear, you can place a reserve on it. This means if your reserve isn’t met, the item doesn’t sell.

Once you have a brief understanding of EBay, it is time to register for your free account.  Yes, having an EBay account is free.  But you will have to share some of your profits with EBay if you decide to become a seller.

Becoming a seller is easy. You just fill out the form that will list your item. You should have a picture of the item you are selling to add to your list. This is also a must in EBay selling. You should also be sure to include where you live because this will affect the price of the shipping and handling of sending the item to the buyer. The buyer is always expected to pay for this, unless you add this to the buying price. Sometimes this is done in the buy it now features.

You should also think about the way in which you want to receive payment. PayPal is one of the best ways. PayPal is an electronic type banking service. It is secure. Plus, it is also free to use, if you have the funds withdrawn into your checking account. Many buyers love the protection and the ease of using PayPal, as do most sellers.

Once everything is set up, you set back and watch as the auction starts. Hopefully, you will also watch as the bidding price for your item increases.

If you find that you enjoy this experience, you may want to investigate EBay further and set up your own store. This will require you to either have your own items to sell and furnish (which you can find at many wholesale prices) or you may want to consider using a Drop Shipping company to help you with your inventory and shipping needs.

There is a lot of money to be made on EBay. For this reason, don’t just throw away your old junk, think about the fact that it could be someone else’s treasure, it think about turning it into a profit on EBay.
