Infiniti Gives Us a Real Convertible

The Infiniti M30 was the first try by Infiniti at a Convertible, which did not go over so well.
The convertible gets a larger trunk to accomodate the roof, aluminum trim, and special sport seats. The Convertible is jam packed with accessories like, Bose Open Air audio system with thirteen speakers (and a couple in the headrest), a wind deflector, pop-up rollbars, optional heated and cooled seats, and automatic adjusting climate control. The Futuristc Bose Stereo feature speakers that will balance themselves for better sound when the top is down on the G37 convertible. The Convertible features unique body panels which include three-piece retractable hardtop that folds under a tonneau cover into the trunk. The convertible top can be put down in no time.
As far as design, Infiniti says the design for the back is all new including structural reinforcements in the chassis, a modified rear suspension, a wider rear track, and an extra inch of width overall. A reatractable hardtop, tonneau cover, and necessary motors cause the G37 convertible to gain a bit of weight. At 453 pounds. heftier then the 2 door and over 100 lbs. exceeding the similar BMW convertible.
Engine wise, the 2009 Infiniti G37 Convertible has a 3.7 liter V-6 engine produces over 325 horsepower and 265 lb feet of torque.lb feet of torque. It is obtainable with a six-speed stick-shift sport package or an auto transmission. 19 inch rims are stock and huge brakes are featured on this convertible. You get paddle shifters on automatic models. The MSRP for the Convertible is almost 45k. Add another to the sticker’s bottom line if you prefer a manual tranny over the automatic.
