When you’re going camping, you’re going to find that you’re going to need a lot of different items. These items break down into two categories, camping supplies and camping gear. When we’re talking about camping supplies, there are a lot of people who right off the bat know the items that they would like to bring with them. When we start talking about camping gear and equipment to, a lot of people really don’t have any idea what to bring along. Below are listed a few of the many different pieces of camping equipment that you want to load up on your next camping trip.

One of the most common pieces of camping gear that you will need to bring with you on your next camping vacation is a tent. Depending on who you are going camping with, you may even need to bring multiple camping tents with you. If you haven’t yet bought your tent, you want to try and make sure that you get a tent that is waterproof, and tough enough to withstand years of punishment.Even if you are planning on camping in a motor home, you may want to think about brining a tent, just incase.  There are lots of people who camping motorhomes that like to spend a night in a tent just to get out in the open air, it might be a good thought for you as well.

A sleeping bag is another piece of camping gear that you will want to make sure that you bring along with you. Be sure that you have enough sleeping bags to go around for all the people in your party.  If you’re going camping in the summertime, you might think that having a light bag will be adequate, but you never know what those summer nights might turn into, it to get downright chilly. So you might want to think about bringing a heavier bag. These types of bags are great if the weather turns bad on you and gets real cold.

For an additional bit of comfort, you might want to think about bringing along a pad or an air mattress to sleep on. If you will be camping in a traditional tent, you may find it somewhat uncomfortable. While many campsites have level ground, not all do.  If you are having doubts about being able to sleep on the ground, then it is well advised to bring along a nice air mattress or a sleeping pad so that you can get some adequate rest.  With these items being relatively affordable, you really have nothing to lose by doing so.

If you plan on going on a camping trip you want to do some hiking, then it is a good idea to bring along a backpack as well. There are a lot of different and unique styles of backpacks, some of them really expensive than some of them cheap, and depending on how often you planning on using it, will determine the type and style of backpack that you need.
